    How Unique are you?

    December 15, 2008 /

How unique are you really?  In fact, how unique and different are you from the other people around you? Have you ever thought about what it is that makes you different or special? There’s a mysterious something that sets you apart from others.  Do you know what it is? Most of us are unaware of even the most basic aspects of our personalities. The reason is that we are completely out of touch with our central or core qualities. If I asked you to describe to me right now, what special qualities you have that make you unique and sets you apart from others, would you be able to answer…

    The Worst thing about Blogging

    December 11, 2008 /

The very worst thing about blogging is that it’s supposed to be so easy! The word out on the street is that a blog only takes about 6 minutes or so to set up.  Well, that’s what they say. But the truth is that I found setting up my blog a nightmare. It took me over 2 months of fanatical determination bordering on the obsessive to get my blog to behave in a semi-coherent fashion. Eventually, after much sighing and gnashing of teeth things began to improve a little. But no sooner had I begun to relax when I came upon a brand new minefield. Images! Adding images to blogs…

    The Best Thing About Blogging

    December 9, 2008 /

One of the best things about Blogging is that it helps you to organize your thoughts and ideas in a systematic way.  What a win for writers!  The intuitive blogging software helps you to file your material in such a way that your precious thoughts and ideas don’t get lost. In the beginning it’s often difficult to find things to write about on a regular basis.  But as your subject categories begin to grow something kicks in and your blog seems to go on a roll (no pun intended!) Maybe it’s the organization or the discipline or some mysterious force that releases your writing muse but you’ll find that your…

    How I Became a Blogger

    December 8, 2008 /

How did I venture into the world of Blogging?  Actually, I had six websites before I decided to start a blog.  And if the truth be told, I was very much against blogging.  Mainly, I think, because I was reluctant to embark on the rather steep learning curve that I knew it required. And in honour bound, I have to admit with great humility that in my case, I did find it to be a steep learning curve.  Added to this was the off-putting thought that blogging requires some degree of commitment. At any rate, I eventually took the plunge into the rather icy waters of blogging technology. And nearly…

How we Communicate Emotion through our Art

    December 2, 2008 /

At its most basic level communicating is all about letting people know how we feel. Take the simple act of preparing a meal for your family. It may seem rather basic but in making the meal you are also communicating your feelings of love and your desire to give. An artist does the same thing. He will communicate his inner thoughts and feelings through his paintings. Joy and depression are easily discernible in a painting. Just think of the emotion in Van Gogh’s paintings. His dark depression is quite palpable in his portrayal of these brooding dark clouds and black ravens hovering over a cornfield; while his happiness is clear…

How to Find out if your Child is a Victim of School Bullying

    December 1, 2008 /

It often happens that when children get home from school they won’t tell you anything about the events of the day. That’s all very well under ordinary circumstances.  But if he or she is being bullied it presents a very real problem. Children who are being bullied tend to be very reticent about it. In some ways they seem to be protecting their tormentors. Obviously this suits the bullies who get away with it and remain unpunished. Presuming that your child is being bullied, why won’t he talk? There are several reasons. For one thing, he won’t want you to think that he isn’t coping at school. And for another,…
